Andean Cock-of-the-rock Manu The Manu Biosphere Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site designated to protect the globally important Amazon rainforest in and around Manu National Park, southeastern Peru.  Map of Manu (©Crees) Facts  Elevation: 400 m Weather in late Sept: 38 °C / 19°C Founded: 1968 Area: 17,162.95 sq km Geography: It includes diverse ecosystems such as lowland rainforests, cloud forests and Andean grasslands.
